Sudhi Foundation has adopted many Government Colleges

    Childrens Educations :

Sudhi has adopted one Government Girls Inter College Jainti and one Government Primary School Nagaon-Dadmi under Block Lamgada, District Almora from Uttarakhand Education Department, Dehradun under School Adoption Program (SAP). At present 310 girls and 12 boys are studying respectively. Many problems have been described in the MoU given to Sudhi by the Education Department, Uttarakhand for the development and expansion of these schools. In short, Sudhi has taken a huge risk for the development and improvement of schools in the rural areas falling under Lamgada block of Almora district and to make the students talented and responsible towards the nation. Here the details of some main problems, challenges, ways to solve them and the impact of development are being given in the following form related to Government Girls Senior Secondary School Jainti.

    i. PROBLEMS OF UTTARAKHAND GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS:

In today’s rapidly progressing world of modernization and digitalization, the introduction of technology in every field or sector is becoming crucial. Exciting technological advancements are happening every day, benefiting humans in every aspect of their lives. Education is one such field that is welcoming technology adoption positively. With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting people across the world, schools were closed as part of lockdown measures to contain the virus thereby disrupting academics. Educational institutions engaged virtually with students and teachers in the form of ICTs to continue with academics. But in the present IT era, the difficult condition of schools in rural areas of Uttarakhand cannot be described. To bring development and change in education, Government Girls Inter College Jayanti, where 310 girls are studying and Government Primary School Dadmi- Nawgaon where currently 10 children are studying, both these schools have been adopted by Sudhi Foundation from Uttarakhand Education Department, Dehradun. In the attached MoU, many important problems like; shortage of teachers, absence of computers and computer lab, lack of basic facilities like adequate classrooms, lack of infrastructure , boundary wall, clean water, toilets and sports ground have been mentioned by the Education Department of Uttarakhand. In the changing times, changing systems of education and competition, it becomes difficult for teachers to make students concentrate on studies due to lack of basic facilities. The gradual closure of schools in rural areas is also due to the lack of these basic needs. Connected to around 200 villages and situated at a distance of 8-10 kilometers, more than 50 plus girl students pass 12th every year in this girls' school. But the biggest problem is the absence of even a single girl student from the science or commerce side. The reason for this is that there is no informational and motivational system for the students in this school. There is no boundary wall for the security of girl children. Due to which anyone ever enters this school. We have found that even in the time of IT and social media, girl students are lagging behind due to lack of facilities as per their requirement. And they do not see their future anywhere. Due to which their mind is filled with inferiority complexes. Because they still don't see their future anywhere. Due to which the human migration of villagers towards cities is increasing instead of sending their children to these rural schools- a) Shortage of Teachers: Due to shortage of teachers in Physics, Chemistry, Computer and Sanskrit, not only the studies of the students but also their mental thoughts are being adversely affected. This is the reason why many times in this science and technology, not even a single student is from the science side. And neither do the children have any computer knowledge. b) Shortage of furniture: Leave aside the students of middle classes, the children of senior classes do not have furniture to sit and read/write. Reading/writing while sitting in dust is not only affecting the mental health of children but also their health. c) Absence of sports ground: In the present time, many students from different states have increased the respect of their state and country by taking up sports. Many talented children of this school are left behind due to lack of sports grounds and facilities. d) Saving school buildings from natural disaster: At present, the biggest problem is to protect the school building which was created by cutting in the mountain and is getting damaged due to falling of mud, stones etc. due to natural disaster. e) Boundary wall:There is no boundary wall for the safety of girls in this school building which has more than 300 girl students. Due to which girls feel insecure. Theft of items from school is common. Apart from this, many other basic facilities like; library, lack of adequate classrooms, lack of drinking water, lack of adequate toilets etc. were mentioned in writing by the school’s principal to Sudhi. This has been mentioned in the MoU by the Education Department of Uttarakhand, Dehradun.

    ii. CHALLENGES:

    a) The Government Girls Senior Secondary School Jainti and GP School Dadmi- Nawgaun in Block Lamgada, Dist. Amora is situated about 80 km faraway from District Almora, and 105 km from Haldwani, dist. Nainital. These schools are connected by road, but there are no government vehicle facilities to reach here. Nevertheless, the decision by the team of Sudhi Foundation to bring about a change in the mental thinking of the girls of these remote villages and educate them about modern technology was a challenge in itself. b) In today's changing times and society where every person is eager to get comfort facilities. In such a situation, it was a challenge for the Sudhi Foundation to convince the administrative department and local management of district Almora to develop these remote schools by Sudhi Foundation. c) Lack of sports grounds: At present, many students of different states have increased the prestige of their state and country by taking up sports. Many talented children of this school remain deprived due to lack of a playground and facilities. Constructing playgrounds in these schools of rural areas and selecting talented players and bringing them forward for sports is also a challenge. d) The kind of places where natural disasters are happening every day. This school has been built by cutting a mountain and soil. Wherever soil and debris keep falling every day. In such a situation, protecting these schools from disasters is also a challenge. Now that these schools have been adopted by the Sudhi Foundation, it is a big challenge to meet the needs demanded by these schools' management. To solve these challenges step by step, the team of Sudhi Foundation is trying to seek grants or items by collaborating with government agencies regarding this project.

    iii. WAY OF SOLUTION:

“Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand can also help Sudhi Foundation in getting financial help from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agencies for working in this project”. This is clarified in Pera. 7 of the MoU signed by the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand with Sudhi Foundation. Therefore, this proposal is being given to seek financial help from financial supporting agencies. The financial help given by you will be helpful in the development of schools as well as in connecting those girls who are economically backward with modern technology. And who need many types of materials to study. Sudhi Society is very keen to work as implementation agency with your company / organization to solve the problems given in writing by the Education Department, Uttarakhand. So that we can make financial arrangements with you and meet the needs of these schools and also solve their problems.

    iv. IMPACT:

Sudhi Foundation has accepted the MoU given by Uttarakhand Department Education to adopt schools in rural areas as a challenge. As soon as Sudhi Foundation starts work in these schools, its positive impact will be visible right from the beginning of the project. This will gradually move forward and in the long term will show its impact as very effective and sustainable in the entire Uttarakhand state. The impacts will be as follows a. First of all, school students, local villagers and the education department of Uttarakhand will believe that it is possible to solve the problems of schools in rural areas only with the CSR funds received from your institution/company. b. The students of rural areas are full of talent in different capacities. With the completion of this project, students will get facilities as per their capacity and if the present and future problems continue to be solved then the talent of the students will also improve. It will have a direct and effective impact not only on the education of the students but also on the mental thoughts. Inferiority complex will end from the minds of children. And talented students will also get a chance to think about their future and build the country. This will have a huge positive impact on the students. This will be the success and achievement of the team management of Sudhi’s. c. Improvement in the level of school and education will boost self- confidence not only among girl students but also among teachers. And teachers will encourage girl students to study with full responsibility. d. If the level of education improves, girl students will get a chance to showcase their talent. This will be able to participate in the development of a green nation. e. This project will bring a lot of change in these schools and expand them as a model IT and social media. The impact will be visible not only in the local community but also in other schools of Uttarakhand state. Rather, the Education Department of Uttarakhand can decide to implement the project run by Sudhi to promote and develop other schools and students. f. Along with bringing changes in education in the school, Sudhi will also provide career council and skill development training to the students as per their talent. And students will be able to make their own decisions in the areas of self-employment or job. The full impact will be in making the students self-reliant. The entire credit for which will go to your institute/company. g. By making these students participate in sports, not only will their income increase, but it will also increase the respect of the district, state and country. In which the name of the sponsorship/financial supporting agency will be included. h. The biggest impact of the work in this project will be on those rural families who are migrating to cities to educate their children. The migration of these families will stop if the level of education improves. Key Findings: Providing the requested items to meet the needs of schools would be an important indicator to show the impact of the project. The work done by Sudhi Foundation and its evaluation will be able to bring a change in the school culture. Thereby improving teacher-student engagement based on the feedback of both students and teachers. And as a result the performance of the students has also improved. Sudhi Foundation is very keen to work as a partner organization under your organization/company to address the issues in these areas and make an impact by solving the problems. Along with education, Sudhi Foundation is also working on the following two important projects. In both these projects, work can be done for a long time with your financial support -
